How Does Live Sports Betting Work?
Live betting lets you wager while a game is in play, with odds that move as the score changes. Learn how live odds work, when a bet is official and a worked example.
At Lunaris, bets on a postponed American football game are cancelled unless already graded, while suspended games stay active. Here is how each case is settled.

At Lunaris, when an American football game is postponed, the affected wagers are cancelled, except for markets that were already officially graded. A suspended game is different: wagers stay active until the game is completed or postponed. Other sports follow their own sport-specific settlement rules.
| Situation | What it means | What happens to the wager (American football) |
|---|---|---|
| Postponed | The game does not take place as scheduled | Affected wagers are cancelled; markets already graded stay graded |
| Suspended | Play stops partway and is meant to resume | Wagers stay active until the game is completed or postponed |
A cancelled wager is treated as no action: it does not win or lose.
Minimum game duration. American football games must reach at least 55 minutes of play for full-game wagers to have action. If a game ends earlier, affected full-game wagers are refunded, while wagers already officially graded remain graded.
Venue changes. For American football, a change of venue cancels affected wagers. A reversal of home and away designations at the same venue does not, by itself, cancel wagers.
Overtime. Overtime counts toward full-game and second-half wagers unless specifically excluded, and does not change the result of completed first-half or quarter wagers.
You place two American football wagers on the same game, which is postponed in the third quarter:
| Wager | Status when the game is postponed | Result |
|---|---|---|
| First-half spread | Already officially graded as a win | Stays a win |
| Full-game moneyline | Not graded | Cancelled |
The first-half bet was settled before the postponement, so it stands. The full-game bet had not been graded, so it is cancelled.
A parlay is graded leg by leg. Check how the affected leg was graded in your bet history: legs graded as a push are removed and the parlay is paid on the remaining selections at adjusted odds. How are parlay payouts calculated shows how that recalculation works.
Open your bet history in your account to see each wager's status and result. Lunaris grades wagers using official sports results and statistics under the applicable sportsbook rules. The full rules are summarised on the Lunaris Sportsbook page. For anything that does not look right, contact support.
